Stay the night, then set out on a half-day self-guided bike ride, planned by First Nature Tours. Pedal through the Mosier Twin Tunnels, pause for a hike to Mosier Creek Falls, nosh on a snack from Basecamp, and take in sweeping Gorge views. FALL FOLIAGE HIKES

MULTNOMAH FALLS
Oregon’s tallest and most iconic waterfall. The Benson Bridge allows for multiple viewpoints of the waterfall, and if you’re lucky, you’ll experience the spray of the falls with autumn leaves blowing in the wind.

MOSIER TWIN TUNNELS
Great for an in-town nature fix. This 4.5 mile paved pathway is along a walking/biking only section of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. You’ll be treated to views of Eighteenmile Island, Mosier, vineyards and gorgeous fall hues.

LATOURELL FALLS
Three waterfalls in one, the first is at the base of the observation deck, and the other two further up the trail fall into a pool of their own.

TRILLIUM LAKE
Just under an hour south of Hood River, Trillium Lake gives idyllic waterfront views of Mt. Hood. Best experienced on a foggy morning or colorful sunset.

STARVATION CREEK
Located in the State Park, the falls are visible at the end of an easy, paved walk up to a picnic area and lookout. You’re able to cross a creek and up rockier terrain to get up to the base of the falls. Mossy walls and boulders cover the area along with colorful maple and oak trees.

WAHCLELLA FALLS
A quick, two mile trek to a 65-foot waterfall pinched between mossy, grotto-like rock walls.

ROWENA CREST
A scenic drive with a pull off featuring panoramic aerial views of the iconic horseshoe bend, Columbia River, and high desert hills.

BEACON ROCK
A unique, moderate hike that rewards you with stunning aerial views of the Gorge after hiking up 50+ switchbacks along a wooded and rock wall.
